Are you wondering.... "what is a Pepperpot.?" Not only is it an award to honor achievements in public relations, but it is a long-standing Philadelphia tradition. In 1968, Bill Parker, APR, who was then our chapter president and head of Campbell's soup communications, named the Pepperpot awards in honor of Philadelphia's famous Pepperpot soup, which has roots in the Revolutionary War. Parker suggested the name to conjure up excitement and good-humored intrigue, saying, "Like Philly's famous soup, we put everything we have into all of our public relations campaigns." The Pepperpot is now a coveted award.
The
Pepperpot Awards are an opportunity for Philadelphia-area PR professionals to join in recognizing the top PR campaigns, tactics, and professionals. Each year, proud projects are submitted to be judged by a sister chapter within the Public Relations Society of America. Together we celebrate the winners representing excellence in our communications and public relations community.
