Resilience Matters: Job Searching During a Crisis
July 21 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pmFree – $25
If you’re facing a job search right now, you’re not alone. The COVID-19 crisis has many people, recent graduates and seasoned professionals alike, looking for jobs and reevaluating their careers – whether by necessity or choice. That’s why we’ve invited Jennifer Lynn Robinson, Esq., CEO of Purposeful Networking, to share tips for jobseekers and discuss resilience to kick off our webinar series about career options in the current marketplace.
Jennifer is no stranger to resilience. Twelve years ago she was involved in a very serious accident in University City where she was pinned under a truck as a pedestrian. At that moment, every aspect her life changed as she dealt with a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, serious physical injuries and many surgeries. The then-litigator and newlywed had to give up her career and life due to the challenges that followed the accident.
She spent years going through recovery and finding her identity again. Now, Jennifer shares her expertise by consulting, moderating, and giving keynotes and workshops. She focuses on the themes of storytelling and resilience following her own recovery and reinvention. She is a media contributor and has been featured in CBS, NBC, PHL17, FOX, Forbes, The Huffington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Philadelphia Magazine. Jennifer was named the Top Small Business Influencer of 2018 (Fit Business), one of the 45 Philly Business Influencers to Follow on Twitter 2018 (Philadelphia Magazine), “Best Networker” 2018 (Philly Current Magazine), and “Power Woman” 2017 (Main Line Today). She did her first TEDx Talk in 2020.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College and her law degree from Villanova School of Law. She holds certifications in event planning, nonprofit management and conflict resolution.
This event is the first in a multi-part series of job search workshops. Additional webinars will be held generally every other Tuesday evening at the same time. Future sessions feature top-notch communicators from across our area talking about considering graduate school and working in various environments, including agencies, corporate, academia, non-profit and politics.
