Moving Mental Health Forward

Despite the fact that one in five Americans experience mental health conditions, it’s commonplace for individuals to stay stuck in stigma and silence. A simple discussion can bring clarity and make a tremendous difference. Led by journalist, Denise Clay, and psychologist, Dr. Jessica Glass Kendorski, join us for an empowering discussion to challenge our norms, foster open communication and improve our own wellness.

About our presenters

Denise Clay

Denise Clay is the co-host of “Mark and Denise In The Mornings” on WWDB-AM 860 in Philadelphia. She also works as a copy editor/proofreader/columnist for the Philadelphia Sunday Sun, and a columnist for the Philadelphia Public Record. Her work has also appeared on the websites XO Jane, AllDigitocracy, Time.com, the BBC, the Huffington Post and the Australian Broadcasting Company.

Clay has worked at a variety of news organizations including the Philadelphia Tribune, the Bucks County Courier Times, the Elmira Star-Gazette and the Reading Eagle Times. Clay was also an anchor/reporter at WRTI-FM in Philadelphia and hosted a talk show entitled “The Next Movement” on IMG2.com. She is also working on her Masters degree in journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she also received her undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Dr. Jessica Glass Kendorski 

Dr. Jessica Glass Kendorski Ph.D, NCSP, BCBA-D is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of School Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). She received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the APA-accredited program at Temple University. She is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania, and maintains certifications as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and School Psychologist nationally (NCSP) and in New Jersey.

Her primary research interest and expertise focus on supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders in the home, school and residential settings. In addition, she helps support children and families through the practice of Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Based Strategies. An appreciative mom of two, she is passionate about child advocacy, education, positive parenting practices, and meditation.
