 Directions

The PRSA Mid-Atlantic District is hosting the country’s fourth-ever District APR Boot Camp April 4–6 at Harrisburg University in Harrisburg, Pa.! (We hosted the first three district boot camps, too.) The APR Boot Camp is a three-day intensive course for candidates to prepare and advance through the Readiness Review™ and take the computer-based Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) or Accreditation in Public Relations + Military Communication (APR+M). This course is designed to provide a setting that will meet the needs of busy professionals whose schedules don’t permit going to numerous meetings.

The cost of the APR Boot Camp is $400. Space is very limited so register early.

Please note: There is an additional $385 fee to take the APR exam on April 6 at 1 p.m.; however, those fees are at least partially reimbursed by both PRSA National, pending successful completion of the exam.

Start studying early! It is important to attend the boot camp prepared for training. The study guide and a book are important.

Here is the link to the study guide: Select open URL after clicking on the link. http://www.praccreditation.org/resources/documents/apr-study-guide.pdf

Look at short list of books recommended within APR Study Guide. Read at least one book. Two of the recommended books include: Cutlip and Center’s Effective Public Relations. 10th ed. Or a more recent version may now be available, Glen M. Broom Upper Saddle River: Prentice-Hall, 2008. KSAs/Competencies Covered. Another book recommended is Public Relations: Strategies and Tactics. 9th ed. Wilcox, Dennis L., and Glen T. Cameron. Boston: Allyn & Bacon, 2008. A more recent version may now be available.

Additional details and the full schedule are below. Spots are limited to 18 participants.
